Anointing of the Sick
By the sacred anointing of the sick and the prayer of the priests the whole Church commends those who are ill to the suffering and glorified Lord, that He may raise them up and save them. Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1499
Please contact the Parish Office if you or a loved one needs the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. Any Catholic with a serious illness or undergoing major surgery is eligible to receive the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. When death approaches, the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, final commendation prayers, and Viaticum (Holy Communion/Food for the Journey) are appropriate. These prayers do not need to be prayed at the moment of your loved one’s passing.
